I am drawing inspiration from Frank Kafka's "Metamorphosis", the writing compelling yet sad. It felt to be telling the cycle of life and how we have aspirations and plans yet they can be changed in the blink of an eye, the mental burden of decaying into nothingness and forgotten.

 

My pieces relate to the struggles felt in the story; the early wake up and 5am train, the rain indicating the depressive air of something negative approaching, the feeling of oppression being stuck in the dirty decaying room and wanting to escape beyond those boundaries yet confined and holding back tears.
